therapeutic tissue massage

A therapeutic massage is a massage technique that involves applying firm pressure (not hard!)  with slow, deliberate strokes to target the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues in the body. Unlike a Swedish massage, which is generally gentler and more focused on relaxation, a therapeutic tissue massage aims to address chronic muscle tension, adhesion (knots), and specific areas of pain or discomfort

Benefits of therapeutic massage

  1. Pain Relief: this massage is particularly effective at relieving chronic pain conditions such as lower back pain, neck and shoulder pain, and muscle tightness. It helps release knots and adhesions that may be causing discomfort.
  2. Improved Range of Motion: By working on deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue, deep tissue massage can help increase your flexibility and range of motion.
  3. Stress Reduction: While this massage is therapeutic, it can also have a relaxing effect. Many people find that the release of tension and discomfort during the massage leads to reduced overall stress and a sense of relaxation.
  4. Better Posture: Addressing muscle imbalances and chronic tension can contribute to improved posture, as your muscles are better able to support your body's alignment.
  5. Injury Rehabilitation: Therapeutic massage can be a valuable part of injury rehabilitation programs. It can aid in breaking down scar tissue, increasing blood flow to the injured area, and promoting faster healing.
  6. Toxin Removal: The pressure applied during a therapeutic massage can stimulate the lymphatic system, helping to remove toxins and waste products from your body.
  7. Improved Circulation: The intense pressure can also enhance blood flow to the targeted areas, which can aid in the healing process and reduce inflammation.
